Fay Eliason Millward, known to me throughout my childhood as Grandpa Fay, told the best stories. He must have had a memory like a steel trap. Even though much of his brain had been removed as a result of brain tumors likely resulting from radiation exposure, he continued to recount events that occurred early in his life with vivid detail. This blog is devoted to my Grandfather and his stories, and pictures.
Now that I am older, I have found that my Grandfather's stories concerning his involvement in the war photographing the detonation of Little Boy via the Enola Gay and Fat Man via Bockscar do not comport with what is officially reported. Specifically, no official history or source document that I have found recognizes that he was involved with those two flights. I am hopeful that this blog may lead to the discovery of additional information concerning those that knew my Grandfather and their stories.
Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any information.
